I made the cross-over gown first, then the open robe (modified from the cross-over gown bodice) and then the white drawstring gown. It was a pleasure to work with such easily understood patterns and I'll certainly be making more clothing using them in the future!

Katie H. from the Oregon Regency Society has two dresses from the Sense & Sensibility Regency Gown pattern. The first one is an all pale blue dress with a silk chiffon overlay and white lace trim.

I just love the femininity and comfort of the Regency gown and decided to make one this summer using a bright and breathable, seersucker fabric!

I made this silk Regency gown from Sense and Sensibility's Simplicity pattern. I think that the only adaptation I made was to raise the neckline a bit. The material is silk that a friend of mine brought from Thailand for me. I added ribbon trim on the sleeves, braid around the empire waistline, and ribbon around the hem. I made the Spencer jacket based on the same pattern, using the long sleeves, and the basic bodice pattern, adapted to be a jacket instead of a dress bodice.

I made this gown last week from the Elegant Lady's Closet Pattern. It was fun to make and felt elegant and comfortable to wear.

Well, I finally finished the Swing dress last week. It's taken me awhile to get some photos together, since I had to lasso my Mom to be my photgrapher.

I bought the pattern for the Girl's Regency Dress a few years ago, intending to make it for my daughter. I had never sewn a dress before, but since it was labeled for a beginner, I thought I would give it a try.

A few weeks ago I made youngest daughters each two dresses from Jennie Chancey's Romantic Era Girls' Dress pattern. I have made this pattern a couple times before. Sensibility patterns are very easy to follow.

I loved the Regency pattern when I first saw it, and I finally talked my Mom, Ann, into making one for me. I picked out this lovely pure white linen and pink embroidered trim. I felt just like a princess in it!

Fortunately, when my daughter, Charity, found out that she was to take part in a violin performance on short notice, we had the Regency pattern already on hand!

I am thirteen, the oldest of six children, and I have four younger sisters. They absolutely adore my dress, and are waiting for me to make them a dress also. Here are pictures of my finished Regency Gown.

Using your Elegant Ladies' Closet and Underthings patterns, I made this dress for our school's district-wide Pioneer Day. Pioneer Day has been going on here in Delaware Co., Ohio, for over 30 years for all the 3rd-graders. Delaware, Ohio was established as a town in 1815, bringing many East Coast pioneers to the region. Thus, the Regency Gown was a perfect match.

I made this dress for a school dance last winter. I didn't decide on my fabric until just a couple days before the event. I had to work quickly to finish in time, which I did, thanks to my mom and my sister! :) I did make some short-cuts--the dress had no back closure until a couple weeks ago so my sister had to sew me into it!

This year I went with my mother to a Jane Austen Ball & High Tea organised by the Jane Austen Society Holland. I loved it!!! We sewed both the Regency Gowns.

Regency fashion is beautiful and elegant. I have wanted to attempt a dress from that era for ages, but being a novice sewer, I never even considered it. After reading many blogs and visiting this site several times I gave it a go.

I took a class on what is ‘in’ for children’s clothing. One of the topics was shirring.... I thought it would be fun to try the technique on my favourite tried and true pattern, the Girls’ Regency pattern. :-)
